戦間期の住宅に使用された木材について
－清水組施工住宅を例に－
本論文は、戦間期に清水組により建設された住宅(470件)に使用されている木材について、その種類、部位ごとの使用割合ならびにその推移などについて明らかにするものである。その主な結果は以下のとおりである。
- 1. 針葉樹については、前半は外材、特に北米材の割合が高かったが、後半は国産材の割合が高くなった。
- 2. 広葉樹については、内装材に多く使用されており、後半に南洋材の割合が高くなった。
- 3. このような傾向は、当時の日本の木材需給状況を反映したものと考えられる。
On the Wood Used in Houses During the Interwar Period
－Examples from the Houses Constructed by Shimizu-gumi－
This paper aims to clarify the types of wood used in Japanese houses during the interwar period. Specifically, we investigated 470 houses built by Shimizu-gumi. The main results are as follows.
- 1. On softwood, the percentage of import, especially North American wood, was high in the first half, but the domestic wood increased in the latter half.
- 2. On hardwood, South-Sea wood was mainly used for interior, and its proportion increased in the latter half.
- 3. It is thought that this tendency reflected the wood supply and demand situation in Japan at the time.
